Our Unexpected Journey ... yes, that's a nod to Tolkien. (Do you think Hobbits would wear toe-socks?)

When my wife and I started Colorado Sock Co., it was because we were tired of toe socks that couldn’t keep up with normal life. The kind that wear thin in a month, tear at the heel, or fall apart in the wash. We believed that a better product was possible and set out to make it ourselves.

Our journey began as a small family looking for gear that matched how we live: intentional, mobile, and grounded in nature. We’re not mountaineers or influencers — just a family that hikes with our kids, explores the world, and cares deeply about the quality of what we bring along for the ride.

Toe socks and barefoot shoes have been a game-changer for our own health and movement. So we set out to make something better. Durable. Purpose-built. Comfortable. The kind of sock you’re still reaching for a year from now.

  • Getting there wasn’t easy. We had to learn how to work with manufacturers, understand textiles, and navigate the long, messy process of product design.

  • We poured much of our savings into this venture, holding onto the belief that there were still people out there who value quality and longevity over ease and convenience. It took two years to bring our first product to market—and we’re still improving every day.

We design every pair with our original goal in mind: if we wouldn’t pack it for a trip or pull it on before a hike, we don’t make it.

We’re not trying to be the biggest brand on the market. We’re trying to be the one you trust. The one you recommend without hesitation. The one you reach for again and again, because it just works.

    Here's to the journey ahead!

  • Who runs Colorado Sock Company?

We’re a small, family-run team spread across Colorado, Tennessee, and Wyoming. What started as one couple frustrated by flimsy socks turned into a growing circle of people who love good gear, honest business, and time outdoors. Every product decision still happens around a kitchen table, not a boardroom.

  • How does the company give back or support the community?

We donate surplus stock and returns (in new condition) to local shelters instead of sending them to landfills. We also prioritize small-scale suppliers and service providers whenever possible — designers, photographers, and makers who share our values. It’s a simple rule: do business with people you’d actually want to know.

  • Are you planning to release new designs or colors?

Yes. We’re always testing new weights, materials, and colors based on customer feedback. We move slowly on purpose — we’d rather release one great design than ten forgettable ones. If you have suggestions, we genuinely want to hear them.

  • Why toe socks, anyway?

Because the regular kind never really worked. Toes weren’t meant to be crammed together all day, so we built a sock that lets them move freely. Turns out it’s not a niche idea at all — just a simple fix that makes every step a little better.
